Adam's Evening | Hopped Cider
If Beer and Cider had a kid, it'd be this Hopped Cider.
Whilst dry hopping is normally reserved to beer-making, it was exceptionally used in the making of this cider from the Yarra Valley, giving it a strong aromatic lift and IPA-like notes. A single barrel of 2018 apple cider matured in barrel for 12 months was racked and macerated with Galaxy hops grown by one of the cidermaker's good mate in Coburg. It was then sweetened with fresh 2019 apple juice and bottle conditioned. A delicious and refreshing ale... oops, cider, for summer! Genius.
Adam’s Evening is a collective of four Yarra Valley folks (Oliver, Sally, Tom & Jaime) who started making cider back in 2016 for their own consumption, until they decided to share the good stuff. Their approach to cider making is simple, natural and authentic: no added yeast, no added sugar, no added water. Just apples, pears and quines naturally fermented in old barrels and bottled for our pleasure. The result is breath taking with complex, aromatic ciders that we, Fizztopians, recommend!
